Oman’s Ministry of Commerce & Industry launched the Food Innovation Program to strengthen the competitiveness of food & beverage SMEs. Over four years, Innovety designed and delivered a structured capacity-building program combining five training modules, expert coaching, and CIMA-certified business tools, building on methodologies from our innovation consulting services.
The program equipped entrepreneurs with innovation, marketing, financial, and operational skills tailored to F&B value chains. By partnering with Madayn Academy, Innovety institutionalized the program as a national training track, ensuring SMEs could sustain growth and embed innovation practices long after the project ended.
The food & beverage sector is a strategic priority in Oman’s diversification agenda, yet SMEs in this sector faced systemic barriers. Many lacked access to structured business training, innovation methods, or internationally recognized certifications. Without these, companies struggled to compete with imported brands, scale operations, or expand into regional markets.
Innovety developed a five-module curriculum covering entrepreneurship, food innovation, marketing, finance, and scaling strategies. Each module integrated practical assignments, business opportunity mapping, and global case studies tailored to Oman’s F&B sector.
To raise international competitiveness, Innovety aligned the program with CIMA certification standards. This gave SMEs a recognized credential in business management and increased their credibility with investors and distributors.
Participants received hands-on coaching and mentoring from Innovety experts, guiding them to apply classroom learning to their own businesses. Through one-to-one support, entrepreneurs refined products, financial plans, and go-to-market strategies.
Partnering with Madayn Academy, Innovety embedded the Food Innovation Program as a national training track. Multiple cohorts were run between 2018 and 2024, ensuring continuity, local ownership, and wider SME outreach.
Senior officials—including Dr. Ayman from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry—endorsed the program, underscoring its role in Oman’s national agenda for SME development and diversification.
