Export Competitiveness and Technology-Transfer Driven Product Innovation for Engineering MSMEs

  • Services: Startup & SME Support, Socioeconomic Development, Platform Design & Development
  • Location: Egypt
The Context

In response to Egypt’s currency devaluation, this initiative aimed to strengthen the export competitiveness of Egyptian engineering MSMEs. It focused on enabling businesses to develop innovative, differentiated products through technology transfer, innovation, and product adaptation, while facilitating access to European markets via strategic matchmaking.

Our Approach

Conducted assessments of 100+ companies to analyze product features, value chains, and market positioning. Delivered capacity‑building workshops and developed 250+ business concepts. For 25 selected MSMEs, we designed market feasibility studies, commercialization roadmaps, and technology‑transfer strategies, while facilitating European partnerships through structured matchmaking and B2B linkages.

  • Enabled MSMEs to develop export‑ready products with clear commercialization pathways.
  • Equipped 100+ companies with actionable insights to adapt products for European markets.

PHEMAC: Commercialization Pathways for Research in the WEF Nexus

  • Services: Green Strategy, Startup & SME Support, Socioeconomic Development
  • Location: Euro-Med region
The Context

This program, under the EU‑funded PHEMAC initiative, aimed to accelerate R&D projects in the Water‑Energy‑Food (WEF) Nexus by preparing them for market entry. It focused on enabling participants to explore commercialization pathways, strengthen their business models, and enhance their go‑to‑market strategies.

Our Approach

Designed a full bootcamp curriculum covering innovation fundamentals, market segmentation, business modelling, financial projections, and pitching. Innovety delivered a multi‑day bootcamp for shortlisted projects, followed by individualized coaching to refine commercialization strategies and pitch readiness. Virtual acceleration sessions provided tailored support to finalize go‑to‑market plans.

  • Strengthened participants’ ability to develop business models, financial plans, and investor‑ready pitches.
  • Positioned R&D teams to advance their innovations toward market adoption in the WEF Nexus.

GROWIT: Innovation Management and Operational Excellence for ICT MSMEs

  • Location: Egypt
The Context

ITIDA launched GROWIT to enhance the global competitiveness of Egyptian ICT MSMEs. In partnership with CID Consulting and Deloitte, the project aimed to strengthen 50 companies through targeted capacity-building, fostering customer-driven innovation and operational excellence.

Our Approach

Focused on medium-sized enterprises, conducting needs and innovation readiness assessments, and delivering customized training. Core topics included innovation management, lean innovation, product design, and idea generation. Progress was tracked through pre- and post-impact evaluations.

Our Impact
  • Created knowledge transfer pathways by embedding innovation management and lean product development practices within 50 Egyptian ICT MSMEs.
  • Equipped enterprises with tailored strategies to drive customer‑focused innovation and operational excellence.
  • Enhanced organizational competitiveness through customized service scopes and continuous performance tracking.

GROWIT: Innovation Capacity Development for ICT Sector Competitiveness

The Context

As part of ITIDA’s GROWIT initiative, Innovety supported Cequens—a leading Egyptian ICT company—to strengthen its innovation capacity and competitiveness in global markets. The goal of the project was to improve internal processes and embed innovation across teams.

Innovety conducted a tailored training needs and innovation readiness assessment, followed by customized capacity-building workshops. Trainings focused on innovation management, idea generation, and tools for sustaining innovation within Cequens’ operations.

As part of the GROWIT – MSME Support Project, Innovety partnered with Alfa Electronics to improve operational efficiency and build innovation capabilities. The goal was to equip Alfa with tools and strategies to strengthen processes, foster innovation, and align with global best practices—positioning the company for sustainable growth and entry into international markets.

Our Approach

We conducted a needs assessment and innovation audit to identify operational gaps and opportunities. Based on these insights, we delivered customized training on innovation management, structured idea generation, and process enhancements. Innovation was embedded into Alfa’s core functions, enabling scalable growth and readiness for international expansion.

The Context

Innovety partnered with ESRI (Northeast Africa) to strengthen its internal innovation capacity and optimize business processes. The project aimed to enhance ESRI’s ability to integrate innovation into its operations, with a focus on improving workflows and increasing overall competitiveness in international markets.

Innovety designed and delivered tailored training programs covering Lean Innovation, Product Design, and Innovation Management. These sessions provided practical tools and frameworks to embed innovation into ESRI’s day-to-day workflows, supporting operational improvements and fostering a more structured approach to innovation within the organization.

Industrial Innovation and Commercialization for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs

  • Location: Oman
The Context

The Industrial Innovation Program, developed for Oman’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, aimed to build the innovation and commercialization capacities of industrial entrepreneurs with early-stage product concepts. The goal was to equip them with the knowledge, tools, and market insights to bring their products to market.

Our Approach

Innovety delivered a two-phase training program combining in-person workshops and mentorship. The first phase focused on ideation, business concept development, and product innovation. The second phase centered on preparing commercialization-ready concepts, developing business cases, and validating them through digital campaigns.

Our Impact
  • Created knowledge transfer pathways by transforming early‑stage industrial concepts into commercialization‑ready products validated through digital campaigns.
  • Equipped 135 participants, including SME owners, startups, and officials, with innovation, product development, and business case capabilities, with 108 achieving GIMI certification.
  • Accelerated Oman’s industrial innovation ecosystem by preparing market‑aligned product concepts and strengthening entrepreneurial capacity.

Innovation Capacity Building for Young Entrepreneurs

  • Location: Egypt
The Context

This program, delivered under EiTESAL’s EBNI incubation initiative, aimed to prepare IoT hardware entrepreneurs for incubation. It focused on validating early‑stage ideas, strengthening business foundations, and assessing team readiness for the first incubation cycle in Alexandria.

Our Approach

Conducted an innovation readiness assessment to identify team and skill gaps. A tailored bootcamp was delivered to 14 teams, providing hands‑on training in industry analysis, innovation fundamentals, business modeling, marketing, financial planning, and pitching. 8 shortlisted teams received follow‑up coaching to refine their commercialization strategies and prepare for incubation.

Our Impact
  • Enabled 8 IoT teams to validate and refine their startup ideas for incubation.
  • Equipped participants with actionable skills in business modeling, marketing, and financial planning.

Amman Chamber of Industry: Innovation-Driven Competitiveness in Industrial Businesses

The Context

In partnership with the Amman Chamber of Industry, this program aimed to enhance innovation capabilities, digital marketing strategies, and R&D practices for industrial businesses. It targeted business owners, CEOs, and R&D managers to foster growth, competitiveness, and market expansion.

Innovety designed and delivered a capacity-building program covering innovation fundamentals, product and packaging innovation, e-commerce, and digital strategies. Engaged diverse participants—from business owners to R&D managers—to ensure organizational-level transformation.
